Only a day after Google said that Google allows their users to see information gathered on them, Catalan team has just been announced in a new protocol to stop the search engines retrieve information in the first place.
"This is a model based on cryptographic tools that distort the user profiles when they use Internet search engines so that their privacy will remain preserved", said Alexandre Viejo, a researcher at the Department of Computer Science at Rovira i Virgili University.
Search engines like Google, Yahoo and Microsoft Live search, store their user profiles by analyzing search indexing from their undertake, who says that this makes them more familiar with their interests and let them offer a more efficient response. But many are concerned about their privacy.
Currently, there are types of software that provides anonymous navigation, such as Tor network, but the new system was claimed to offer a clear improvement in response time. Viejo admitted that the new protocol does not delay for the search in a little data, but he said that it was almost invisible.
The prototype was tested at the research center intranet and internet when environment is open. The results has "allow us to be optimistic about the global implementation model", said the researchers. They are now working on a version of the end user, and say they believe that it will be easily integrated into the main platforms and browsers. See you in the next post. Hope you like this article.
